The Washington State Organ Donation Initiative

Pullman Regional Hospital is participating in “The Washington State Organ Donation Initiative” to increase the lives saved through organ donation in Washington state.

More than 2,000 people are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in one of our five Washington State transplant centers. One person can save up to eight lives through organ donation—and they can improve the lives of over a hundred people through tissue donation, according to LifeCenter Northwest, the state’s federally designated organ procurement organization.

Recipients might need a transplanted organ for any number of reasons, from disease to congenital defects to simple wear-and-tear. Pullman Regional Hospital partners with LifeCenter Northwest to provide tissue and organ donation and has one of the highest rates of organ donation based on its patient population, approximately 60 percent.

By increasing donation, we will continue to save more lives and provide hope for those on the waiting list. To learn more visit www.lcnw.org/wsha-toolkit.
